Bronx Man Charged With Vehicular Assault and DWI
A taxi driver that witnessed a Bronx hit and run collision helped police catch the driver who he followed for seven miles. This helped the NYPD officers to set up a road block to apprehend him. The cab driver was nearby when a Kia Sorento struck a 21-year-old man as he attempted to cross the street at the corner of East 181st Street and Southern Boulevard just before 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
The Kia driver, who police identified as 40-year-old Mohamed Fofana, did not stop and fled the scene on Southern Boulevard. At that point, the cab driver began tailing Fofana past the Bronx Zoo and through the New York Botanical Gardens. Police sources said the cab driver dialed 911 to report the injured pedestrian being struck, and told them he was following Fofana.
According to a police spokesperson, Fofana's victim was critically injured and was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital.
Although a police spokesperson could not confirm the cab driver's involvement in catching Fofana, NYPD sources said that a good samaritan kept after Fofana until he reached Boston Post Road, where police stopped him at the roadblock that was setup. Police said the found Fofana in a drunken state with watery eyes and shaky balance. A breath test revealed that he was intoxicated above the legal limit.
Fofana was charged with two counts of vehicular assault, driving without a license, leaving the scene of an accident, and DWI. The 21-year-old victim remains in critical condition.
"Thanks Jonathan for helping me out so much. I was scared after getting my 2nd DWI. You helped calm me down and allowed me to start sleeping again. I hope there isn't anybody I know that will have to go through this, but if I do, I will highly recommend your services." Thanks again, Melissa D.Queens NY
"Hi Jonathan, Thank you so much for helping me with my DWI. I'm so glad that nightmare is over. You helped put my mind at ease and I felt so much better right after I spoke with you. Don't take this personally, but I hope I never have to call you again!"

"Jonathan, thanks again for getting my DWI charges reduced. I didn't think there was a chance of that happening. Unfortunately, I just had a friend get a DWI over the weekend. I told her who to call." Mike S. Queens NY
